Where there's snow, gap-filled (VIIRS, Suomi-NPP, 375 m, daily)
What it measures. A daily global map of where there is snow on the ground at 375 m resolution, with cloudy gaps filled in so the picture is continuous; it includes a snow index and a layer noting how long clouds have lingered.
How it's made. Made by taking the VIIRS snow-cover tiles from the Suomi-NPP satellite, filling cloud-obscured spots using recent clear views, and reprojecting them into a single global map each day.
How & where you'd use it. Useful for tracking snow extent for water-supply, hydrology and climate studies, with the gap-filling making day-to-day maps more usable despite clouds.

Official description
VNP10D1F is a daily global view of cloud-gap-filled (CGF) snow cover at 375 m resolution. This daily global product is produced by reprojecting all of the VNP10A1F product tiles from each day to a global geographic projection. The data files include the NDSI_Snow_Cover and Cloud_Persistence data layers from VNP10A1F.
