Daily plant-greenness map, short-delay version (Copernicus)
What it measures. The same daily measurements of land-surface reflectance and the NDVI greenness index, with each pixel about a kilometer across. This version is delivered with a short processing delay for better accuracy.
How it's made. Derived from the SYNERGY instruments on ESA Copernicus's Sentinel-3 satellites at Level-2, continuing the legacy of the SPOT VEGETATION instrument.
How & where you'd use it. Used to follow vegetation health, drought stress, and the seasonal rhythm of crops and forests when a slightly delayed but more refined product is preferred over the fastest one.
What's measured
Coverage & cadence
- Time span2018-10-04 → ongoing
- Spatial extent-180, -90, 180, 90
What you can do with it
- Map vegetation, forests and biomass
- Monitor ecosystem productivity and carbon
- Support habitat and biodiversity studies
Official description
This Collection provides the Sentinel-3 Synergy Level-2 1-Day Surface Reflectance and NDVI products, which are SPOT VEGETATION Continuity Products similar to those obtained from the VEGETATION instrument onboard the SPOT-4 and SPOT-5 satellites.
