What it measures. Holds the raw, unprocessed instrument data straight from MODIS, in 5-minute chunks along the satellite's path, before any conversion into measurements people can read.

How it's made. This is the rawest stage (Level 0) of data from the MODIS instrument on the Terra satellite.

How & where you'd use it. A building-block input used by data processing centers to generate all the usable MODIS products; it is not meant for direct use by general audiences.
